IDF Diabetes Complications Congress 2020

Last update: 17/06/2020

Due to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, several important diabetes and other scientific meetings have either been cancelled, postponed or shifted to a virtual format. We anticipate the global situation will improve over the coming months and that by December, current restrictions on travel and assembly will have been lifted. We therefore remain committed to delivering a high-quality meeting for the diabetes community in Lisbon and will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and make adjustments as required.

The IDF Diabetes Complications Congress 2020 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 3-5 December 2020. This is the second in a new IDF series of live educational events focused on tackling the issues around complications associated with diabetes.

The increase in rates of diabetes across the globe brings with it an increase in diabetes complications. Poor diabetes management, whether through lack of education, limited access to care or undiagnosed conditions, means diabetes complications are a real problem in most countries.

Following the succesful launch of this new congress series in Hyderabad, India in 2018, IDF invites you to Lisbon for an update on the latest research, treatments and tools to manage, treat and prevent diabetes complications. The ultimate goal is to improve outcomes and quality of life for people with diabetes.

The IDF Diabetes Complications Congress 2020 is organised in collaboration with the Portuguese Diabetes Association (APDP).

The congress will be held in the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa CCL, located on the river Tagus and in the historical area of Belem. This comfortable and pleasant venue offers spacious auditoriums, meeting facilities and exhibition space, all conveniently located and within easy reach.
