The Santiago de Compostela’s path, the traditional and religious pilgrimage way to the city of Santiago in Galicia, Spain, is a challenge for everyone, including people living with diabetes.
Fundación para la Diabetes and IDF Europe member, APDP Diabetes Portugal, walked together the “Walking Diabetes” challenge. A group of nine Portuguese participants with type 2 diabetes completed the 106,6km of the English Way, that starts in Coruña.
This promoted the fact that not only can people with diabetes manage such intense physical effort, but also that exercise is key in preventing and managing diabetes.
