Job title: Youth Programme Coodinator Intern

Accountable to: Regional Manager, IDF Europe

Internship assignment: 6 months

Start date: as soon as possible


Overall purpose of job:

To support the coordination of the IDF Europe Youth Programme and the organization of the Youth Leadership Lab, including the camp to be held in Italy in July.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting IDF Europe’s Youth Programme and activities;
  • Being the focal point of contact for all youth related activities;
  • Supporting IDF Europe communication officer in promoting youth activities on social media and ensuring effective dissemination;
  • Organising and coordination the IDF Europe Youth Leadership Lab in collaboration with the Youth Steering Committee, the IDF Europe office and the host organisation. This will include launching the call for application, helping with the selection of the candidates, liaising and supporting the successful candidates with visa, flights and other requests, participating in the development of the programme and liaison with speakers, promoting the event on social media and in the Newsletter and participating in the Youth Leadership Camp;
  • Drafting reports, presentations and other material related to the Youth Programmes;
  • Performing various administrative tasks linked to the programme;
  • In addition, supporting other work of the IDF Europe Secretariat as required.

 

Desired profile:

  • Excellent social, organisational and leadership skills;
  • Ability to plan and prioritise;
  • Flexibility with working hours and availability to travel on the week of 6-12 July 2025;
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural setting;
  • Outgoing personality and a team player;
  • Sound knowledge of online communication tools and techniques;
  • Experience or interest in European level youth policy and engagement
  • An interest in health issues; experience in diabetes or related clinical field would be an asset;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with knowledge of a second/third language an asset;
  • Right to live and work in Belgium without requiring a work permit.

We offer traineeship opportunities for students and for reecnt graduates to gain hands-on experience in:

  • Policy and Advocacy (e.g., monitoring health-related developments at the EU and European level, attending relevant meetings and events, drafting briefing notes and reports)
  • Project Coordination (e.g., assisting in the coordination of IDF Europe’s tasks within EU-funded projects, supporting event planning and execution, liaising with project partners)
  • Thought Leadership (e.g., conducting literature reviews, contributing to content development, supporting the creation of publications)
  • Communications (e.g., assisting with social media management, developing communication materials, supporting outreach and engagement activities)

As part of our dynamic team, you will be working on impactful projects aimed at improving the lives of people living with diabetes across Europe.

 

Student traineeship

  • The traineeship at IDF Europe needs to be held in the framework of their studies and the training agreement is done with the University;
  • Foreign students who intern in Belgium should be covered by insurance from their home country;
  • Remote working is possible but students must be legally eligible to work in the EU;
  • This traineeship is unpaid.

 

CIP traineeship for recent graduates (Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle)

  • Candidates should be eligible to live and work in Belgium without requiring a work permit.
  • This traineeship is paid according to Belgian government requirements (€977.50).
