Participate in the Sports and Diabetes project and take our survey!

09 July 2020

IDF Europe is engaged in the Sports and Diabetes project, in collaboration with TSV Bayer Leverkusen, HAŠK Mladost, Lazio Valley, Olympiacos SFP and Wiener Sport Club.

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, the project aims to promote the participation of children and youths living with diabetes in sporting activities, to encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities. A handbook will be published to educate children, parents,  teachers and coaches, about practicing sports when living with diabetes. The handbook will be trialled during a series of workshops organised by the clubs.

The first step in the development of the handbook is a survey of children and youths, parents and coaches/teachers, designed to:

  • Examine the main barriers that children and youths with diabetes currently face when engaging in sporting activities.
  • Understand the concerns and information required by coaches and teachers to give them the confidence to embrace and promote the practice of sports among children and youth with diabetes.

The survey is now open and available in five languages – Croatian, English, German, GreekItalian.
