It is with great sadness that we learned that Natalya Tukalevskaya, the former President of DARK Kazakhstan, passed away on September 16, 2021.
Natalya Tukalevskaya, a person with Type 1 Diabetes, was a fearless, honest and dedicated person, an honorable citizen and a well-known public figure. She was one of the first leaders in the diabetes movement in Eastern Europe and was an inspiration for all people leaving with Type 1 Diabetes. Her engagement and dedication to raise diabetes awareness greatly contributed to improving the lives of people with diabetes.
On behalf of the European diabetes community, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends as well as to all the colleagues and volunteers of the Diabetes Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan in this time of grief.
