On November 14, the Cyprus Diabetic Association (CDA) organised several initiatives to celebrate World Diabetes Day (WDD). The association featured information about the meaning and history of WDD in the new issue of its newsletter. Some of the association’s members also participated in various TV programmes as guests.
On November 14 and 19, the CDA set up several screening stations across Cyprus, where people could learn more about diabetes and get their blood sugar and blood pressure measured.
On November 19, for the 15th year, the association also organised a walk through the streets of Nicosia, in collaboration with Lions Club International, to raise awareness of diabetes and the importance of physical activity for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Additionally, several municipalities and ministries in Cyprus were lit in blue throughout the month of November to raise awareness of diabetes and to mark WDD.
