On November 12–13, the European Regional School Nutrition Summit was held in Kiyv. The event gathered Ukrainian and European officials, experts and activists to discuss the importance of promoting healthy diets in schools.
IDF Vice-President, Iryna Vlasenko, brought World Diabetes Day into focus at this international event, showcasing IDF’s and IDF Europe’s key projects at the exhibition area, which was visited by First Lady Olena Zelenska, Prime Minister Dmytro Shmyhal and Health Minister Viktor Lyashko. Iryna Vlasenko participated in a panel discussion moderated by renowned chef Evgen Klopotenko, emphasising the importance of adopting healthy school nutrition policies to shape lifelong habits and reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases.
Diabetes advocate and Youth Leadership Lab alumna, Jana Karpenko, also joined the event, showcasing the energy and engagement of the next generation.
