On September 10-12, the Swedish Diabetes Association hosted, in its office in Stockholm, a youth camp for people living with diabetes.
Four people, aged 18-29 years old, participated in the camp, as well as four council members of Young Diabetes Sweden. The theme of the camp was “Diabetes does not stop me from doing what I want”. During these three days, attendees had the chance to participate in team-building activities and listen to lectures about project management. A well-known music journalist in Sweden, who also lives with type 1 diabetes, was a guest speaker. The camp was also an opportunity for participants to start developing their diabetes projects. Young Diabetes Sweden will continue to mentor young people, and follow their projects throughout the year. For both participants and organisers, the camp was a real success!
