Brussels, November 19, 2019 – Press release – On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the International Diabetes Federation Europe Region (IDF Europe) held a symposium at the European Parliament, under the auspices of the Finnish Presidency hosted by MEPs Heidi Hautala and Sirpa Pietikäinen.
The event concluded with MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen and IDF Europe Chair, Prof Dr Sehnaz Karadeniz, calling for further collaboration and the set up of a renewed Interparliamentary Diabetes Working Group which was broadly supported by the symposium participants. Another strong emphasis was put on the need to establish an European Diabetes Registry. Full press release available here.
