We were saddened to learn of the death of Professor Ismailov Saydiganikhoja Ibragimovich (Said) on 25 October 2022.
On behalf of IDF Europe and the European diabetes community, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family, and also to his friends and colleagues in the Department of Endocrinology at Tashkent Paediatric Medical Institute.
Professor Ibragimovich was highly respected in his numerous roles, including Chairman of the Association of Endocrinologists of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Approbation Council at Tashkent Medical Academy, member of the Specialized Scientific Council at TMA, member of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons, member of the American and European Associations of Endocrinologists, and his involvement in all of these is a huge loss to the community.
The legacy he has left and the positive impact his research leaves within the diabetes community will continue to benefit all those working in this field. The medical and scientific expertise he shared, coupled with his involvement in numerous associations all contributed to improve the lives of people living with diabetes. Professor Ismailov Saydiganikhoja Ibragimovich will be deeply missed.
