Access to diabetes care and technologies varies greatly between and within European countries.
We partnered with European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) to tell Síofra’s story about her challenges as a child living with type 1 diabetes in rural Ireland, where she struggled to access the specialist diabetes care and the technologies that she needed to optimally manage her condition.
This is a problem faced across the EU, with 26% of the EU population reporting unmet needs for specialist healthcare due to financial reasons, waiting lists, or transport and distance (Eurostat).
Watch the video to learn about Síofra’s story and the policy solutions we believe will make a difference in improving access to diabetes care and technologies in Europe.
