IDF Europe is looking to hire a new Policy Intern to join the team. The job holder will be responsible for supporting advocacy-related activities carried out by IDF Europe (under the supervision of the IDF Europe Senior Consultant, Policy and Projects).
Start date: as soon as possible
Internship assignment: 6 months
Specific responsibilities include:
IDF Europe: Advocacy
- Monitoring and analysing health-related developments at EU and European levels
- Preparing briefing notes and recommendations on relevant health developments
- Attending meetings and events on behalf of IDF Europe, and ensure proper follow-up
- Assisting in the development of close relations with EU institutions, Council of Europe and other relevant institutions, and with member state officials based in Brussels
- Participation and representation of IDF Europe at meetings organized within the Region and as directed by the President and/or the Board and/or the Regional Manager. Preparation of subsequent reports on the feedback and outcome of such meetings
- In addition, supporting other work of the IDF Europe Secretariat as required
Desired Profile
- Sound knowledge of EU decision-making process, especially as regards the European Parliament
- Strong verbal and written skills in English; fluency in other languages (e.g., French, Russian, Spanish…) is an asset
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, remote setting
- Right to live and work in Belgium without requiring a work permit
- Computer literacy in standard office applications
- An interest in health issues; experience in diabetes or related clinical field would be an asset
