About

The Belarusian Humanitarian Non-Governmental organisation “Children’s Diabetes” was established in 1992, and has been the member of IDF since 2003.

Members include people with type 1 and 2 diabetes and their family members, as well as medical professionals, scientists and policymakers. The organisation has branches in the regional centres of the Republic of Belarus. Its activities are volunteer-based.

Main Focus

  • Protecting the rights of the people with diabetes.
  • Promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Assistance in accessing social programmes in the Republic of Belarus;
  • Influencing public health policy, by involving policymakers, cultural figures, and scientists in the movement for the prevention of diabetes and resolving issue related to diabetes.

Activities

  • Carrying out the diabetes prevention events and educational seminars -“Diabetes Prevention Days”, “Check yourself for diabetes”, “Diabetes Lifestyle”.
  • Annual event at the national level – November 14, “World Diabetes Day”.
  • Participation in diabetes education in schools.
  • Seminars for managers and board members of the organisation – “Psychology of communication”, “Legal protection of the disabled”.
  • Assistance and support for youth initiatives.
