About the Prize

The IDF Europe Young Researcher Prize is awarded to a young researcher, under the age of 40, who is involved in innovative patient-oriented research in diabetes and/or its complications. Their work should demonstrate commitment to diabetes research leading to improved health outcomes for people with diabetes.


 

Find out about the winners of the IDF Europe Long-Standing Achievement Award over the past years:

In 2018, Pr Dr Martin Heni won the IDF Europe Young Researcher Prize sponsored by Air Liquide Healthcare, for his studies on pathogenetic of insulin resistance and to type 2 diabetes and his interesting research on the effect of the hormone insulin in the human brain.

In 2017, Dr Shivani Misra won the IDF Europe Young Researcher Prize. The award acknowledged her daily positive impact on diabetes as a diabetes researcher and clinical consultant at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

In 2016, Dr Michael Gejl Jensen won the IDF Europe Young Researcher Prize. The award acknowledged his contribution to understanding the role of the brain in health and diabetes, to improve the lives of people living with diabetes, and ultimately to help finding a way of healthier brain aging.
