WHO ARE WE LEAVING BEHIND?
Diabetes without barriers
Diabetes without barriers
Although diabetes can affect anyone, the risk of developing the condition, access to care and health outcomes are not equal. Social, economic and environmental circumstances, alongside differences in access to quality healthcare, create inequalities that can affect people’s experiences throughout life. Addressing these barriers requires more inclusive, equitable and responsive health systems that recognise different needs, tackle stigma and discrimination, and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to prevent diabetes, access appropriate care and live healthier lives.
