The Council of Europe is the continent’s leading human rights organisation. It comprises 46 member states, including the 27 members of the European Union. IDF Europe is a member of the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) of the Council of Europe which is the representative body of all INGOs with participatory status of the Council of Europe.
As the representative body of all INGOs with participatory status, the Conference of INGOs facilitates the participation of organised civil society in the work of the Council of Europe. The Conference serves as a platform where civil society can interact with the Council of Europe to achieve its objectives. It also promotes participatory democracy, citizenship and freedom of association.
