Know Your Numbers. Know Your Risk.
Diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease and obesity are closely interconnected and can develop silently, without obvious symptoms. Early detection can help identify potential health concerns early, enabling timely action.
To mark EU Screening Week, IDF Europe is bringing its Know Your Numbers Mobile Unit to Milan during the EASD Congress:
Allianz MiCo – Milan Convention Centre, Milan (Piazza Sud – Access through Gate 2, Viale Eginardo).
Take a few minutes to learn more about your health with a free health check and better understand your risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity, CVD and kidney disease.
What will we check?
The health check will include key indicators such as blood pressure, HbA1c, lipid profile, Lipoprotein(a), kidney health, waist circumference and BMI, while also highlighting the importance of early detection and timely intervention in reducing future health risks.
Know Your Numbers
Some 34 million people in the EU live with diabetes, and around one in three remain undiagnosed. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease and obesity are closely interconnected and can develop without obvious symptoms. Early detection can help identify potential health concerns early, enabling timely action.
The initiative builds on IDF Europe’s previous Know Your Numbers campaign and comes at a time of growing European momentum around prevention, screening and early detection.
In December 2025, the European Commission launched the Safe Hearts Plan, the first EU-wide approach dedicated to cardiovascular health. The Plan focuses on three key areas: prevention, early detection and screening, and treatment and care. Importantly, it recognises the close links between cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity and the need for a more coordinated approach to prevention.
Health checks are a specific flagship initiative within the Safe Hearts Plan. The European Commission is developing an EU protocol on cardiovascular health checks, with a Council Recommendation planned for 2026, alongside support for mobile screening outreach programmes and Know Your Numbers awareness campaigns. The aim is to help identify people at risk earlier and support a more common approach to health checks across Europe.
The diabetes, cardiovascular, obesity and kidney communities have also been working together through a Task Force on defining a cardiovascular-renal-metabolic health check, of which IDF Europe is a member. Together, the organisations have developed recommendations for a more structured and integrated approach to health checks across the 27 EU Member States. The recommendations recognise the close links between these conditions and the importance of identifying risk factors earlier and supporting timely action.
This work comes alongside the first EU Screening Week, creating a Europe-wide focus on prevention, screening and early detection. Together, these developments reflect a growing recognition that identifying risk earlier and bringing health checks closer to people can play an important role in preventing chronic disease and improving health outcomes.
Know Your Numbers puts this approach into practice. By bringing integrated health checks, information and awareness together in one place, the initiative aims to help people better understand their health, identify potential risks earlier and encourage timely action.
We would like to thank our corporate partners, Lilly (Platinum Partner), Abbott, Roche Pharma and Boehringer Ingelheim (Silver Partners) whose support has helped make the Know Your Numbers mobile unit possible.
