The Indus Diabetes & Endocrinology Center (IDEC), operates under the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), is a leading centre dedicated to comprehensive diabetes and endocrine care in Pakistan. IDEC provides integrated primary, secondary, and tertiary care services through a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified, internationally trained diabetologists, endocrinologists, diabetes educators, nutritionists, nurses, diabetic foot care assistants, and other allied healthcare professionals.
The faculty at IDEC is recognised for its contributions to diabetes management and education, gestational diabetes (GDM) care, type 1 diabetes services, diabetic foot care, domiciliary care models, offloading and customised footwear services, and multidisciplinary wound management. IDEC has also played a key role in establishing national diabetes networks, diabetes registries, and evidence-based management guidelines, including guidance for special situations such as Ramadan and Hajj.
IDEC is actively engaged in professional education, diploma and training programmes, clinical research, and community outreach initiatives to strengthen diabetes care capacity in Pakistan and the region. The centre collaborates closely with national and international organisations, including the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other global health partners to advance quality diabetes care, education, and advocacy.
