The title of Fellow of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF Fellow) is an honorary title awarded to healthcare professionals who have made a significant contribution in the field of diabetes. IDF Fellows may be called upon to participate in the activities of the Federation, from conferences and research to education and advocacy.
The goals of the IDF Fellowship programme are to:
- Acknowledge the contributions of exceptional medical and allied healthcare professionals who are, or have recently been, active in the field of diabetes or related disciplines.
- Foster a global community of diabetes experts to promote knowledge exchange and help strengthen the global diabetes response.
- Enhance the knowledge, skills and career prospects of healthcare professionals currently working in diabetes.
The IDF Fellowship programme is open to clinical practitioners, nurses and allied professionals, and scientific researchers.

Becoming an IDF Fellow requires a two-year commitment and a subscription payment. This will only be required once your application has been approved by the Fellowship Committee.
The fee for becoming an IDF Fellow can either be paid in full or split over two calendar years. The fee varies by country and by category.
