About
The Midlands Diabetes Interest Group (MidDIG) is a private voluntary organisation registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (PVO 13/2014), and works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe.
The organisation was formed in 2010 and was fully registered in May 2014. Our mission is to strive for the recognition, promotion and protection of the health of people with diabetes through the provision of support, education and practical advice in both the community in which they live and at all accessible gatherings.
MidDIG is active in all the eight districts of the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe providing support to health centres and care to people with diabetes and their primary caregivers.
Activities
- Diabetes training to healthcare providers.
- Diabetes education to people with diabetes and their primary care givers.
- Awareness, prevention and screening programs.
- Type 1 youth camps, schools programmes and health wellness expos.
