About

Established in 1991 in Shanghai, the Chinese Diabetes Society (CDS) is the leading national organization in the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes in China.

The mission of the CDS is to prevent, care and cure diabetes through education, research and good medical practice. CDS has 31 provincial and municipal branch societies and more than 3,000 members across China and 6 study groups.

Main Focus

  • Conducting, supporting and funding researches on prevention, care and cure diabetes
  • Enhancing academic exchange and cooperation among physicians, researchers and other professionals working on diabetes
  • Enhancing awareness of diabetes and promoting knowledge of diabetes to general public
  • Advocating on behalf of people affected by diabetes and professionals working on diabetes

“The CDS is the leading national organisation in the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes epidemic in China. Established in 1991, the society is committed to a mission to prevent, care and cure diabetes through education, research and good medical practice. The CDS has been an active member of IDF since 1995 and always looks forward to contributing to the missions of the federation. As an IDF member, we are encouraged and motivated by the visions of the federation. The guidance and leadership of IDF is of paramount importance in the global campaign against diabetes”.
