The project introduces a digital registry and certification system that evaluates diabetes-related products— such as medical devices, supplements, and monitoring tools—based on real patient experiences and clinical validation. By combining structured patient feedback with endocrinologist review, Diab-Reg issues standardized certificates that help patients, healthcare professionals, and institutions make informed choices. With more than 145,000 people living with diabetes in North Macedonia, Diab-Reg empowers patients to actively participate in shaping the quality of products available to them. It also provides national authorities and regulators with a transparent reference tool, while supporting companies that bring reliable and patient-approved products to market.
Key features of Diab-Reg include:
- A public online registry listing certified products.
- Digital certificates issued in Macedonian and English.
- Collaboration with endocrinologists and patient associations.
- Awareness campaigns to strengthen patient rights and safety.
Diab-Reg is the first project of its kind in the region, setting a new standard by putting patient voices at the center of product evaluation. It aims not only to improve diabetes care in North Macedonia but also to serve as a model for other countries seeking innovative ways to integrate patient perspectives into health decision-making.
