Project Proposal: Diabetes Patient Association in Cluj-Napoca. The project aims to establish a Diabetes Patient Association in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, initially focused on individuals living with type 1 diabetes and later expanding to include people living with type 2 diabetes. The association’s goal is to create a supportive community that promotes education, awareness, and empowerment among people with diabetes and their families. In the first phase, we will focus on establishing the association legally and building an active social media presence to connect with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Through online communication, we will share educational content about diabetes management, nutrition, mental health, and new technologies, while fostering peer support and patient engagement. The second phase will involve organizing educational events, such as interactive presentations and workshops led by medical specialists. These activities will help patients gain practical knowledge, improve self-management skills, and feel more confident in daily life. In the next stage, we plan to organize summer camps for children with Type 1 diabetes, providing a safe, inclusive environment where they can learn, play, and develop independence in managing their diabetes.

their condition. Through these initiatives, the association aims to strengthen the local diabetes community, improve quality of life, and build a model of collaboration that can later be replicated in other cities across Romania.
