My project aims to raise awareness about diabetes among school students and teachers in Lebanon. Many children with diabetes face daily challenges at school due to a lack of understanding, stigma, and limited knowledge about the condition. Through this initiative, I plan to visit schools across the country to educate students and teachers about diabetes, how to support classmates living with it, and how to foster a more inclusive, understanding environment. The project includes interactive awareness sessions, teacher workshops, and a digital awareness campaign to expand its reach online. By combining in-person education with social media engagement, the initiative aims to break misconceptions, promote empathy, and empower young people to learn about healthy lifestyles. Ultimately, “Diabetes at School: Learn, Support, Empower” seeks to build a more informed generation that supports students living with diabetes and encourages open conversations about the condition – fostering a culture of inclusion, understanding, and care in Lebanese schools.
