Understanding Diabetes in Portugal: Bridging Perception and Reality

Cohort: 2025-2027

Project Contributor

This project is grounded in strong, in-depth research aimed at understanding how diabetes is perceived and experienced in Portugal, both by people living with the condition and by the general public. It seeks to identify knowledge gaps, misconceptions, and stereotypes, while highlighting opportunities for improvement. By contrasting public perceptions with the lived experiences of people with diabetes, the project will generate evidence-based insights to inform effective educational and awareness initiatives. The main outcome will be a national strategic report reflecting the reality of diabetes in Portugal, complemented by a visually engaging

Summary tailored for a range of stakeholders, under consideration. Together, these outputs will provide a solid foundation for future projects, with a potential subsequent visual campaign building on this research.
