Hello, I’m Snehal Nandagawli from India.
It’s a privilege to join IDF’s Blue Circle Voices and be part of a global platform that shares the lived experiences of people with diabetes. Because I live with type 1 diabetes, the condition has shaped not just my daily life but also my purpose: to make sure no one feels alone in their journey.
Diabetes isn’t just about numbers. The emotional load, access to care and stigma are just as real. That’s what drives my advocacy. At the Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation I co-lead the Buddy Project Helpline, India’s first peer-led mental health and diabetes helpline, and Project Gaia which empowers women and girls through education and support.
Through BCV I hope to share grassroots stories from India and highlight why mental health education access and peer support matter. I believe people with diabetes must have a seat at the table when decisions are made.
My aim is to break myths, push for fair access to insulin and medication and make sure no one is left behind. With more awareness and patient-led advocacy I believe we can create lasting change for people with diabetes everywhere.
