At the 74th World Health Assembly (May 24-June 1, 2021), UN Member States will discuss a Resolution on Strengthening WHO Preparedness and Response to Health Emergencies. The Resolution is led by the European Union, and aims to ensure the continued safe functioning of health systems in future health emergencies.
The Global Coalition for Circulatory Health (GCCH, of which IDF is a member) has issued a statement, also supported by the NCD Alliance, on the importance of this Resolution for the circulatory health community and people affected by circulatory conditions. The statement calls on Member States to urgently address the key risk factors and preventative measures that can help reduce the impact of hidden circulatory diseases (including diabetes), other NCDs and COVID-19.
