Today we mark 30 days to World Diabetes Day! This November, our World Diabetes Day campaign is putting the spotlight on the importance of understanding your risk of type 2 diabetes and ensuring early diagnosis and timely treatment to reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.
Here are some of the ways you can support our campaign:
- Send a letter to your national health minister or Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. Use our online tool to ask for increased investment to help achieve the World Health Organization (WHO) diabetes coverage targets and universal health coverage by 2030.
- Share our type 2 diabetes risk assessment tool to help more people understand their risk and take action to delay or prevent the condition.
- Download and display our visual assets including posters, social media visuals and our new infographics.
- Plan an activity to highlight the importance of diabetes awareness in your local community, workplace, youth group or online. Upload your activity to our online platform.
Activities planned for World Diabetes Day 2023 around the world:
- In Italy, the Associazione Diabetici Valle del Belìce ODV is organising a conference for doctors and healthcare professionals, a documentary screening and a sports activity ‘Ride For Your Life’.
- In Haiti, the Fondation Haitienne de Diabete et de Maladies Cardiovasculaires is providing online education for healthcare professionals and will organise screening for diabetes and its complications.
