Get involved in World Diabetes Day 2024

01 November 2024

Today marks the beginning of Diabetes Awareness Month as we countdown to World Diabetes Day on 14 November. This is the first of our new three-year theme Diabetes and Well-being, raising awareness of the impact of diabetes on both the physical and mental health of people affected.

  • Over 1 in 3 people with diabetes experience diabetes distress.
  • Almost 2 in 3 people with diabetes have told us that the fear of developing diabetes-related complications affects their well-being.
  • Almost 1 in 3 people with diabetes have told us that they find it difficult to remain positive about their condition.

Find out how you can support our campaign calling for well-being to be put at the heart of diabetes care.

Ask your policymaker to support the well-being of people with diabetes
Join our World Diabetes Day call for more support for the well-being of people living with diabetes by sending a letter to your national policymaker through our online tool. You can automatically customise our template letter with diabetes data from your country and add a personal story to give it more impact. Send a letter to your policymaker.

Take the Diabetes and Well-being survey!
How does living with diabetes affect your well-being? Share your experience to support our call for well-being to be put at the heart of diabetes care.  Take the short survey.

Use our campaign toolkit to support your activities
The World Diabetes Day toolkit has all the key messages for this year’s campaign and is full of ideas to help you organise an activity in your community and amplify the campaign messages on your online channels.

Share your experience of #DiabetesLife on social media
We invite you to share your story of living with diabetes and its impact on your well-being. Help raise awareness and start the change we need for a better diabetes life! Share your story on social media this November using #DiabetesLife
