This week, the President of the UN General Assembly convened the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit on 18-19 September 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The meeting marked the halfway point between adopting the 2030 Agenda and SDGs in 2015 and the 2030 deadline to achieve them.
Policymakers and civil society met to discuss current challenges and solutions to ensure the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs by 2030. The meeting resulted in a political declaration that marked the beginning of a new phase of accelerated progress and transformative actions leading up to 2030.
