About

Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organisation, active in all 50 US states and more than 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.

Since 1948, Direct Relief has worked to help people who confront enormous hardship to recover from disasters and improve the quality of their lives. The tradition of direct and targeted assistance, provided in a manner that respects and involves the people served, has been a hallmark of the organization since its founding.

Since 2009, Direct Relief has partnered with IDF to provide diabetes medication and monitoring to vulnerable populations during humanitarian emergencies.

  • Maternal Health: Healthy Mothers are the bedrock of healthy, productive families and communities. That’s why Direct Relief’s efforts focus on protecting women through the critical periods of pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Community Health: Direct Relief’s longstanding approach of supporting locally-run facilities providing essential health services is a key strategy globally, including all 50 US states.
  • Disease Prevention: Direct Relief is committed to supporting its global network of healthcare providers as they respond to critical health issues in their communities.
