About
In 1981, a group of doctors and individuals wanted to set up an organisation with the aim of providing social services to people with diabetes and establish a centre for dissemination of information on diabetes. This group founded Persatuan Diabetis Malaysia (Malaysian Diabetes Association) as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation.
In 2013, the association changed its name to Diabetes Malaysia (DM). It has 14 state branches and 41 district branches.
