Dia-Beating at school

The Dia-Beating project aims to improve healthcare systems at elementary schools in Tunisia by educating the staff and teachers to support children living with diabetes and their families. To do so, they will organise workshops about diabetes and managing children living with diabetes. A medical team from the Association of Endocrinologists and Diabetologists of Sfax (AEDS) will animate these sessions. Young members with diabetes from the Sfax diabetes house will organise a training session with the AEDS medical team about diabetes and communication to raise awareness among pupils and students.

Zomorda Kammoun

My name is Zomorda Kammoun, from Tunisia. I have been living with type 1 diabetes since 2006. I am an active member of the Sfax diabetes house for eleven years and among the founders of the CJDS “Club des Jeunes Diabétiques de Sfax” and I am part of the diabetes house medical and animation team. Besides, I Hold an applied license of Pedicure-Podology obtained from Higher School of health sciences and techniques in Sousse. Presently, I am doing a Master’s degree of Business Administration.

I have worked as a therapeutic educator and I was in charge of organizing educational sessions for people living with diabetes and I also helped in developing educational material related to diabetes. Currently, I created my own company named I Care Consult which is a consulting company specializing in developing therapeutic educational programmes for patients living with chronic diseases like me. I committed myself to give all my best during my associative and professional experiences for people living with diabetes like me especially children and adolescents because it’s a hard challenge to live with.
