“Educating the Educators” aims to increase awareness of type 1 diabetes among elementary school teachers to support pupils with diabetes. A group of young leaders with diabetes will create a series of posters to feature in teacher lounges. The posters will provide information on diabetes, symptoms and management. A further human perspective could also feature personal accounts from young people with diabetes. Through awareness and understanding, the project hopes to reduce diabetes stigma and discrimination in schools, giving pupils with type 1 diabetes a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.
