Mariyam Nafha – Maldives
Mariyam aims to raise awareness of diabetes in her country and organise a range of education activities.
Every month from January to May 2018, she held one or two educational sessions dedicated to presenting diabetes and life with diabetes. Each session is divided into two main parts: presentation first, and then Q&A. These sessions allow students and teachers to gain knowledge about diabetes, how to live with it and how to support people who live with it.
Mariyam is preparing other educational sessions in several schools and colleges. She also will attend Diabmaldives International Youth Camp in December as a team leader.
