My name is Júlia. I have lived with type 1 diabetes since I was two when I became a member of the Association for People living with diabetes in Portugal (APDP). Throughout the years, I have developed a deep appreciation for healthcare professionals. Every day I learn something new about my disease, and sometimes I must make difficult decisions which may have an immediate and long-term impact on my health.
I am in the second year of my Master’s degree in Statistics and Information Management, specialising in Marketing Research and Customer Relationship Management at NOVA University in Lisbon. I have decided to develop my research project to study consumer preference for type 1 diabetes. I plan to educate the world about this condition and bring awareness to the healthcare industry to develop better-adapted devices for use in our daily lives.
