“Type 1 of a Kind” will raise awareness to tackle the loneliness and isolation teenagers with diabetes can experience. Several activities — workshops, hiking trips and camps — will allow teenagers to share their stories and find motivation in this critical life period. Creating a safe environment allows them to accept their condition and gain peer support.
Every activity will include a Chronic Care Center where success stories from Young Leaders in Diabetes can serve as inspiration.
