The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is an alliance of over 245 national diabetes associations with two million members in more than 160 countries and territories, IDF has been at the vanguard of global diabetes advocacy for over 50 years.
We are seeking a part-time Assistant to support the President Professor Akhtar Hussain. The Assistant will be working remotely and can be based anywhere. If the applicant does not reside in Belgium, the employment contract will be a consultant (self-employed) contract.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support communications activities
- Manage inbound enquiries to the President’s inbox. Drafting responses to inbound emails and sending outbound communications at the request of the President
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations
- Draft statements from the President
- Develop a social media presence for the President
- Draft and post on agreed platforms
- Support execution of IDF social media strategy
- Prepares short news items for social networks (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
- Coordinate the agenda and travel of the President
- Manage the President’s agenda of IDF-related events
- Keep the President’s online agenda up to date
- Organise his travel requests
- Support the President with any other administrative requests as required
Required skills/competencies/experience
- Bachelor-level or higher qualification (preferably in a communications-related field)
- Excellent or native proficiency (verbal and written) in English
- A minimum of two years’ work experience, preferably in a multicultural, international environment
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Applications
- Excellent organisational skills
- Able to observe need for confidentiality
- Has excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills
