Uninterrupted access to quality and affordable care is critical to the well-being of people living with diabetes. However, achieving full well-being requires more than access to care.
The International Diabetes Federation, recognising the crucial role of well-being beyond mere access to care, hosted the hybrid event “Diabetes and well-being: more than access to care” during the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva on 28 May from 18:00 to 20:00 CEST.
At this IDF side event, you learnt how the WHO Global Diabetes Compact can contribute to achieving positive physical and mental well-being for people with diabetes.
This event aimed to:
- highlight the different aspects of wellbeing.
- showcase Member States’ initiatives to support the physical, societal and mental well-being of citizens with diabetes.
- illustrate the potential of the WHO Global Diabetes Compact to improve the well-being of people living with diabetes by 2030.
