For more than 20 years, the IDF Diabetes Atlas has provided trusted, evidence-based data on the global impact of diabetes, serving as a key source for research, policy and advocacy worldwide. As one of the most widely referenced global resources on diabetes, it plays a critical role in shaping the global response to the epidemic.
This online event, organised by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), will provide an opportunity to learn about the methodology behind the development of the Atlas and its potential as a powerful advocacy and policy tool. From data collection and critical appraisal to modelling, validation and expert review, this webinar will highlight the scientific rigour behind the Atlas estimates. Speakers will also explore the challenges, data gaps and innovations involved in producing each edition, promoting greater transparency and understanding of how the estimates should be interpreted and used responsibly.
As preparations for the 12th edition continue, this webinar will also call on the diabetes community to contribute relevant data sources to strengthen the upcoming edition and ensure its continued accuracy and global relevance.
